EL VOYAGE SUPPORTS SDG MEDIA ZONE AT UN ECOSOC YOUTH FORUM
EL VOYAGE has been collaborating with SDG media Zone since 2014. The SDG Media Zone is a platform for editors, bloggers, content creators and influencers to communicate innovations, partnerships and discussions as a call to action for humanity to engage the Sustainable Development Goals.
For us it was an ideal match for our EL VOYAGE Coffee, as it stands and promotes the same principals we went into business. A private company with sustainable goals to impact the lives of the same people we work with in the coffee and artisans we work with.

The SDG Media Zone will report from the Economic and Social Council Youth Forum on January 30th and 31st at the United Nations Headquarters. With a live broadcast of interviews and panel discussions the SDG Media Zone will engage and allow young people as well as journalists and social media influencers around the world to join the important conversations happening at Forum. It will be an opportunity for young people to speak up about the future they want and how they can lead the development agenda.
Representatives of the approximately 1.2 billion young people (15 to 24-year-olds) in the world today—the largest generation of young people the world has ever seen—are gathering at the UN at the end of January to share their vision for a world where youth everywhere can reach their full potential. With young people facing a future full of uncertainties due to conflicts, economic variability, climate change, and rising inequalities, it is important that the international community sees young people as agents of change and places them at the centre of the global development process. The 2018 UN Economic and Social Council Youth Forum will act as a platform for youth representatives to highlight opportunities, raise concerns and discuss how they are taking action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in their communities, countries and globally.
“Youth are crucial to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and providing a platform for their voices to be heard encourages them to be engaged and take action towards this agenda,” shares Kerry Bannigan, SDG Media Zone Executive Producer. “They are active changemakers in their communities and play a key in communicating from a grass roots level and beyond.”
The SDG Media Zone is organized by the UN Department of Public Information, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Office of The Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, the UN Foundation and the Pvblic Foundation.
